  1. I take it you don’t agree with my view on engagement and media planning being fundamentally the same?

The issue to me is that agencies treat [or have allowed clients to treat] media and engagement planners as different entities and yet there is no reason this should be the case.

Some of the most powerful media/engagment planning in ad history was done by one person – and I think that was able to be the case because companies properly trained people rather than put them into little pigeon-holes so that they can now charge more for each stage of the process.

This “change” has resulted in theonly real winner being the agencies – or should I say the agencies bank accounts – because as I see it, everyone else who now has to use this ‘system’ gets compromised in some way.

    But hey, that’s just me … 🙂

  2. I’ve just seen who you work with so I appreciate why you might be abit pissed at my statement – however years ago the likes of Naked were inside agencies like HHCL [though back then it was called Michaelidis & Bednash] and while I know why they split off [the Naked boys are friends of mine] I still feel the comms industry has ended up worse for it – though I believe ad agencies are the most guilty for creating that separation.

And just for the record, I am absolutely media respecting – and maybe this post will prove it.

    I’ll shut up now 😉
