I confess to certain occasional “ambivalence” about Mother, but this news left me open-mouthed with awe (and jealousy!). When the great minds at Mother, London, were noodling (geddit?) around with a TV campaign for client Unilever, it occurred to them: Why not take the premise and adapt it into a musical comedy for its brand, Pot Noodle? I admit I have not read the brief, and if it’s just an extension of the TV campaign that takes some of the lustre off, but nonetheless you have to give it to those guys. The cheeky f’ers have dubbed it the “Les Miserables of the freeze-dried, snack-food world” and it’s showing at the Assembly Rooms.
